August 2008 – Carpenter Family – Oxon – What a wonderful location and excellent gite. The four of us fitted in perfectly to Le Maize. The girls enjoying the sofa bed experience. Peace and quiet, cicadas and crickets, stars and the warm nights, pool and a games of pool – all made for a great relaxing holiday. Thank you.

August 2008 – Mr & Mrs Raper – Worcs – Thanks for a superb, relaxing, peaceful week. After travelling for a week on motorbikes it was great to stay in such a beautiful place. Jeff & Julie made us feel really welcome and provided all the little things that we would never have got in our paniers. The new gazebo was fantastic and enabled us to be outside most of the time – it’s still standing!! The pool and all the facilities have added to our holiday. We will definately recommend you to biker and non biker friends.

Steve & Maria – Well, we said we’d be back (July ’07) and we are! This is the only time we have ever returned to the same place for a holiday but, that’s just a measure of how great the accomodation, location, views and hosts are here!! July 2008 – Mr & Mrs Brennan – Birmingham – Arrived tired and weary, leaving rested and relaxed. This was our first gîte holiday and we are much impressed. The gîte has all we needed. Julie & Jeff showed us many kindnesses, the location is impressive and there is lots to see and do. We have found a little ‘jewel’ in the Périgord Vert.
July 2008 – Williams Family – Leicestershire - What a fantastic place! Gite 1 is absolutely beautiful – the sense of space, equipment in kitchen, decor and dishwasher are all great. Everything spotlessly clean with food in when we arrived. As everyone has said, Jeff & Julie are so friendly and helpful – nothing is too much trouble. The views here are breathtaking and (lucky us) the weather to date has been wonderful. We have loved the pool and the children will so miss Ruben and his poolside games with them. We’ve visited lots of places: our favourites have been Brantôme and La Jemaye (both beautiful). Also, the amazing church inside mountain at Aubeterre. We are regulars to France and this has been our best gite ever… superb!
July 2008 – Akehurst Family – Essex - We have had a fantastic week and are reluctant to leave even though we still have two weeks in the South of France to look forward to! We have had difficulty in getting the children to leave the pool. Gite 2 has everything you need to enjoy your stay and many extras. Julie & Jeff are wonderful hosts, going out of their way to unsure you enjoy your stay. Ruben has stolen our children’s hearts (even the one who is scared of dogs)! A Fanstastic week and thanks for our ‘only’ Anniversary card!! Above & beyond!! Will be back in 2009!
July 2008 – Hind & Walpole – London - It’s a great place for swimming, cylcling, canoeing, golfing, tennis, walking, table tennis, sunbathing, eating & drinking. Don’t really want to go home. Many thanks!
July 2008 – Aspden Family – Notts - As I write it’s a beautiful Friday evening in July. The wheat field is being harvested, the children have just got out of the pool and we are about to go off for dinner. Life doesn’t get much better than this! Thank you so much for a fantastic holiday. From the welcome upon arrival and right throughout the week we have been impressed by every aspect of the place. The icing on the cake has been how child friendly it has been and the attention to detail. We were left wanting for nothing. Superb!!!
July 2008 – Turner Family – Manchester - Great location, fab gites, pool and hosts as everyone says. This place is in the middle of 460km of Mountain bike trails, so little used – expect to be covered in spiders webs… brilliant!!! Never saw a sole on the trails all week + there’s a downhill course near Riberac. On top of that, wads to do and see – we feel we’ve just had a ‘taster’ this year. Will definately be back – many thanks, loved it to bits. ps Enjoy deer spotting with a glass in your hand! xxx
July 2008 – Mr & Mrs Brown – Berks - We came away looking for a relaxing break and that is exactly what we’ve had. The gite was perfectly equipped but the scenary has stolen the show – you could never get tired of the view! We’ve been to some amazing places, Bergerac, Brantome & Hauteforte and tried some amazing wine; all round a perfect break.
June 2008 – Rhodes Family – Leeds – A great place for a quiet week, irrespective of the weather. Great views and a really well appointed gîte with Jeff always on hand to troubleshoot – if required. Area great to explore and recommendations include the lake at Le Jamay, Brantome and the Moulin de Pont restaurant at Lisle. The games area looks like a boys heaven. Julie & Jeff have got the place really well set-up for young families with everything very child friendly. Thanks for a great week.
June 2008 – Johnson & Jones Party – Staffs (Repeat Bookers)!
Johnson – We have been regular visitors to Jeff & Jules for the last 3 years & always have a warm welcome from our hosts. We are ready for the total relaxation we get at La Treille knowing that there are plenty of places to go and things to do if we want to.This time we enjoyed a lovely meal in the village Auberge at Montagrier, receiving a warm welcome & gorgeous food.Thanks for having us back, we’ll see you both again soon.
Jones – We have stayed at Jeff and Jule’s place a number of times now, the first time we stayed we were so impressed with the whole experience it was inevitable that we would return. Each time we have been able to relax totally in this truly tranquil setting. Your holiday can be what you want it to be, has your hosts are very flexible. Thanks again, Jeff and Jules for looking after us and going that extra mile to make our holidays memorable.

Juliette, Ian & Esmée – Driving up was a delight after a very long journey. Jeff & Julie were the perfect friendly, laid back hosts. They were there when you needed them and gone when you wanted family time. Kids loved pool and Ruben. Beautiful views, perfect cosy accommodation and the welcome food hamper was a relief. Saint Victor restaurant was great and the owner was very friendly. Couldn’t ask for more. Thank you!
John & Pat – We found the gîte well set-up and very clean, pool will be nice when hotter. We would have no hesitation to recommend the accommodation and facilities. Thank you so much for all your kindness, it has been really lovely. The gîte was spotless and what a lovely thoughtful thing to do to provide food (cheese, butter, bread, wine & ham) on our arrival. The scenery beautiful and such wonderful hosts. We have all enjoyed ourselves so much and if we do get back to France again we would love it to be here. The only down thing is having to leave Ruben, we will miss him so much. Thank you again and the very best of luck for your future.

Seamus O’Sullivan – No noise, no traffic and the beauty of the open countryside to be enjoyed in restful heavenly peace. An oasis of peace in a mad, mad word. A place where time stands still and enhanced by Jeff & Julie who made us feel most welcome. I met Jeff & Julie about a week ago and the feeling is that I have known them for much longer. The informality they project, to me, is most welcome and it is sad to think we must soon go - But go we must, as life’s demands dictate, but hopefully we may return, to once again enjoy, this heaven of peace and tranquility!

Tous les deux ont aimé la tranquillité de l’environnement – les oiseaux, les cerfs, les lizards – nous avons fait les promenades en famille, mon mari et moi ont couru pour échappper le train train journailier – c’était magnifique! Le cyclisme, le canöe. Nous avons visité La Jemaye souvent – des étangs pour tout le monde – mais surtout pour la famille. Thanks for a lovely two weeks. We had a fantastic time in the Dordogne. What a great spot with a wonderful view – could have stayed a lot longer! Have enjoyed exploring the area, both walking and in the car. Baby Olivia has enjoyed the pool, although she came out shivering! She has also enjoyed practising the speed-crawl and the shuffle-walk around the beautiful gite which has been set-up perfectly for a 1 year old.
Thanks for babysitting also – the grown ups. Much appreciated that!

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful gite. The scenery is wonderful and there is plenty to do in the surrounding area. We particularly enjoyed the caves at Lascaux 11, a highlight for us! The children made good use of the pool, whilst we could relax on the loungers or on the terrace. The gite is furnished and equipped to a high standard, with everything we needed, including WIFI (for Peter).
A big thank you to Julie & Jeff (and also to Ruben for keeping us entertained playing ‘fetch’).

Thank you for a wonderful holiday. Everything in the gite was perfect, including the views from the terrace. We enjoyed finding all the different picturesque walks. Sandra enjoyed the pool but Chris was a wimp and did not go in. Jeff & Julie were perfect hosts and provided a lot of sports equipment to keep us amused.

We have holidayed in France for the last 20 odd years, now without children. The accommodation during that time has varied but this must rate as one of the best. We love our gite and the area. Jeff and Julie are brilliant hosts and make you feel very welcome and part of the family for 2 weeks.
Having stayed in the Dordogne a couple of times before, this we find is more peaceful and less commercialised but everything is available if you want it. Loved Ruben, he made us miss our own dogs less. Thank you so much, we will recommend La Treille to all!!

A little piece of French heaven. We came looking for a quiet non-crowded holiday and that’s what we got. Jeff and Julie are great hosts and have created a beautiful place with wonderful views. Canoeing, pony riding and lake Rouffiac are a must (including waterskiing).
My holiday in France was just great. Jeff and Julie’s dog Ruben is lots of fun and loves to play fetch. The the weather was hot the pool was sometimes ice cold but very refreshing. Jeff & Julie gave us great advice for fun activities like water skiing and canoeing. If I ever came back to France I’d definately choose here. Rachel, aged 10
La Treille was great, Jeff, Julie + Ruben (very cute) were great hosts and recommended great restaurants as well as conoeing, water skiing and pony riding. Overall it was brilliant and I would definately recommend it. Ross, aged 12

We have really enjoyed our two weeks at the gite. Julie and Jeff are brilliants hosts and cannot do enough for you. The view from our gite is superb and matches the interior. We visited many of the surrounding villages and towns and found everyone very friendly and helpful. On top of all this there is Ruben – what a star!

Well what can i say our group had the BEST ! time ever we stayed in the gites and the hole experience was amazing, we went to La Treille on a cycling holiday to get in some training and met some great people Jeff and Julie and Ruben (the dog!) the area was spot on and in a great location to the shops and surroundings, the gites were so nice we all want to come back soon 2011 I think. There is conoeing, horse riding MTBing all availible with little hassel at all, We hope to return soon to endure some more great weather and training,

Thank you very much to Jeff and Julie for a fantastic holiday. You have thought of everything and the gite had all that we could possibly need. It was peaceful with amazing views, incredibly well equipped and spotlessly clean. We enjoyed playing ping-pong and pool and our two boys even braved the swimming pool! The famous Ruben lived up to his reputation and spent hours entertaining us with his endless energy and ball chasing skills. We had great days out, walking, canoeing and exploring local towns. We would definately recommend it.

After along first day in France where our preperation for a jaunt in a new country was ‘laissez-faire’ at best, only luck got us to the village of Montagier at 9pm where a young Vincent walked us down to the ‘La Treille restaurant’… Jeff & Julie came and rescued us! Then over the following days they ‘Brantomed & Angoulemed’ us and – and… Would like to think we could make it back some day. Thank you both – John

We have just returned home after our second visit to La Treille (20th sept 09) . As last time it was worth the drive to this beautifull gite and surrounding area in the Dordoyne. Jeff and Julie as always made us very welcome and we took friends with us this time who were amazed at there efforts, Truly a first class 5* welcome and stay. If you have any idea,s about staying in this area La Treille is the place to be. Stunning area and so much to do you will not want it to end. Thanks again to you both and we will definaitly be coming back.

Thank you Jeff, Julie & Rubens for a great week. Weather has been perfect as has our gite and surroundings. Difficult to imagine how it could be better. A real ‘home from home’ in this beautiful corner of the world. Canoeing is great fun and reasonably priced! Food has been great whenever we’ve eaten out and having Jeff & Julie on hand to point us in the right direction, make restaurant reservations and generally be great hosts has ensured a perfect, relaxing week. Which is exactly what we’d hoped to find. Thank you. xx

Fantastic setting, truly idylic – an amazing place to escape from city life and relax. Jeff & Julie are extremely welcoming and helpful; they made us feel instantly at home. We would recommend Le Griffons Restaurant in Bourdeilles – top quality. Also canoeing in Renamon was excellent although make sure you book ahead to avoid disappointment!
We had a fabulous time and we’ll be back!!

Despite the beautiful countryside, we haven’t travelled too far during our stay, preferring to enjoy the pool and pool table and the other more local attractions. We have enjoyed a wonderfully relaxing holiday at La Treille. This really is a little piece of heaven, so peaceful and picturesque. The gite was just perfect for us – light and airy and very well equipped. A real ‘home from home’.
We have enjoyed discovering this corner of France. We especially enjoyed Brantome. Equally we have loved just relaxing by the pool and playing table tennis.
We really did appreciate the food you welcomed us with. I don’t know what we would have done on a Sunday evening when we arived without your thoughtful picnic!

We return to England totally de-stressed after our lovely relaxing holiday.

Had a wonderful relaxing stay in beautiful peaceful surroundings and a lovely, clean & comfortable superb gite. Many thanks to Jeff & Julie for being so friendly and welcoming. Jeff even supplied polish to return the motorbike to its shining self!
This is a lovely place to stay with lots to see and do if you want to or to totally chill out. We are going home very relaxed. We will definately recommend La Treille to friends, family and other members of vrccuk bike club.
Last mention goes to Ruben – shame he won’t fit in our panniers!

What a welcome sight after a long motorbike journey! Only out classed by the welcome from Jeff & Julie and not forgetting Ruben. The gites are outstanding as is the location, with perfect views over the surrounding countryside. Really enjoyed chilling out beside the pool in fantastic weather. Many thanks for the great kindness shown to us by Jeff & Julie especially the trips to the supermarket and Perigueux. Being bikers themselves they are only too aware of the practicalities of carrying home the shopping. We will of course spread the word about La Treille and its fabulous owners.
